Yeah I am bringing my digital camera as well (as usual!) and normally would bring a DV camera but my brother has it - bugger!

Is that camera digital or older type ie. Hi8 or beta/VHS etc? because I have analogue-digital video converter here.
Cheers

I'll steal mum and dad's video camera too, that way we should beable to get some good footage for uses including editing...

That brings the tally to:

2 video cameras and one digi camera...

Also, BBQ sorted for the back hill, got the green light from the property owner, aka Dad.

Is it saturday yet **chomps at nails**

Yeah wicked, I love convoy's... I guess I'll be meeting you guys at the Carlsruhe BP before I can join...

I'll park near the diesel section so we can get an initial group photo/video for "production" purposes...

AP, the pero's video cam is digital :D We've been having issues with the battery going flat real quick, so hopefully it will hold out for the day if I take it off charge in the morning of the cruise.
The other one is borrowed from uni, I need to get a tape for it - its a 2.3 mega pixel, Panasonic NV-GS180 if that means anything to you. I'll upload it to the uni macs, so that's covered... Will have to organise to get all the footage together to make a clip from everything we've got.

I've been checking out some more of the google street up in the forest, there's a few tracks marked that should be interesting to check out - I thought they were old logging tracks that were "unofficial". Stumpy's track is an interesting track. I don't know if we can do the whole thing but I remember a section that should be good for starters...

Heath, if you'd like to come up a day earlier there's no worries for space to stay over, either in the house or on the back hill. Your call mate.

Cheers

I guess that's one less camera man then :(
GTlegs wrote:Have fun and be careful
Yes dad :p Seriously though I'm sure we'll be all good. There will be plenty of photos to look at on our return ;)

I reckon you don't want to come cos then you'll really want a 4wd subi  Am I right???

Cheers

Bennie

PS I should also add - as usual, There is no insurance cover for this trip, what ever private insurance you have is you're cover, make sure to check that your provider covers for 4wding. If not please realise and understand that any liability for damage is not that of the organiser, and that you will be responsible for your own damage if any that occurs.

Thanks ladies and gents. 2 sleeps to go!

You can burrow mine if you want.
It's good for about 40 mins on a charge and I have some blank tapes, it's dv and not too bad a camera.

I was thinking about making a box for it with a glass window and attatching (gaffer taping) it the roofracks, but thats for another time. And with a wide angle adaptor I think the footage would look pretty good, rally style lol.

Or if anyone else want to use it thats fine, I will need it back for the weekend after tho.

Just got off the Beuro of Meterology site - http://www.bom.gov.au/weather/vic/forecasts.shtml

Take a look at Central, North Central and Northern Country. Cross reference, average it out and that will give you a good idea of what's going on - we seem to be on the border of these areas...

The forcast is looking like cold with a few showers. Min 2, max 11. Should make for some interesting weather!

Thanks Dave, I won't beable to grab it, we seem to have enough cameras I think. Overkill wouldn't be a bad thing either I think...

Yeah, I was thinking about that. The old girl is 18y/o still with quite a few original parts, so depending on conditions, she might stay at base camp and I can ride/be cameraman with one o' you guys. I have a nikon coolpix and tripod, battery lasts about 40 mins too. Btw, I'm vegetarian. Is there any wild tofu to hunt and barbeque up your way Bennie?

Hey Suberman,

No tofu to hunt, but you can bring some and we'll shove it in the fridge til lunch - I only have one BBQ to cook on, so if you don't want to cook with the meat its probabily best to bring a little cooker and fry pan for your vege stuff. No problems with me if you need a ride. I guess you could jump between cars and check out other's rides/driving styles.

Can I please have a final show of hands. My rangie mate has ppl visiting with infants and thought it best not to attend this time.

So, AFAIK there will be:

El_Freddo
AlpineRaven
Heath
Suberman
Venom

If there is anyone else please let me know, it wouldn't be good to leave without you because we didn't know you were going to make it. I've left mates off the list as they will arrive with the respective member listed. Looks like a good crew number to go with (not meaning to say that others cannot attend on short notice)

If anyone wants my mobile please PM me yours and I'll text you mine back.

Lunch will be BBQ on back hill - in the morning we'll drop the meat off to the fridge and leave it there til lunch time. Home is a minute from the turn off to the forest :D

There's no finish time organised, I'm good to go til it gets dark ;) and maybe beyond

My last forum check will be friday night sometime, I will endevour to get on prior to the meet time but don't know if this will happen.

Is there anything I've missed?

Cheers

Bennie

PS - Ruby Scoo got a wash today, so she's all ready to get down and dirty!

Hey Venom - just to clarify, the 4wd day is saturday only. I say this cos your post above sounds like you're going to knock over the assignment saturday night in hope of joining us on sunday...

No worries about the rest of it.... Sounds like its almost a sit and wait game now...

One thing before sitting and waiting - I'm about to head down to get the BBQ etc for the back hill lunch ready to go. Then I'll do an oil change and get a few bits ready to grab on the way out tomorrow.

Just hope I get some sleep tonight!

And to keep expectations down - I work on this theory that if you have high expectations, like everyone here, you have a crap time cos whatever you're doing cannot exceed those expectations. If you have crap expectations then you're more likely to have a great time. So:

I'll see you all tomorrow for a really shit day of 4wding ;) :p

Cheers

Yea i was thinking it was sunday for some reason. Personally i think the experience will be heightened by the fact we'll all pretty much have no lift and road tyres, and in my case bald road tyres. It just makes your average track alot more challenging :)
