Kinglake is a small town in the bush (not far from Yea/St Andrews), about 10 mins drive from Whittlesea, from Bendigo to Kinglake - I would estimate approx 1-1/2 hours to 2 hours depends which way you'll go..El_Freddo wrote:Hey batesy,

My L is standard in height and will be for a whileWould this be a problem?

I don't know what the conditions of the tracks there as last time I was there was about 5 years ago I was in RX Leone - wasn't lifted and went thru okay just... but conditions changes over the years, I think i went to Mt Disappointment¿ (correct?) its very Very claying tracks, slipperly if after recent rainfalls.

Batesy - can you tell me what the conditions of the tracks? Does it require lifted or non-lifted Subarus? Are there any deep water crossings?

Yeah we gotta set a date (for me - best on Sundays but I am not 100% sure if I am available due work).... right now would be too wet and slippery hence too risky. But if it hasn't rained for a couple of days would be great.
I have road tyres myself anyway..

Currently i'm out, gotta get a few things sorted on my car (like a problem that i think is the diff bush that mount on the top near the drive shaft input on the rear diff - between 20 - 40km/h the car shakes from side to side as if there's a weight being spun around in the car... at speed its fine).
I'll be watching the post and the vic section, if there's a time that all the factors are right, i'll be there.
Cheers

I agree about these cruisers and patrol big lifted 4wds etc, yesterday I went for a drive in Wombat State Forrest (near Greendale side) and I was pretty nervous when i was driving my Liberty there (didn't go far because no mobile reception and I was alone plus 4pm in raining noon) driving thru claying and muddy areas, anyway as soon i was in the bush I came across to these guys said "g'day fellas, how you going and where you've been etc" and they all gave me negative comments like... you little weeny go home you cannot even go thru 100mm deep puddle... I thought oh F**K em as i felt humiliated by them, so kept going and I didn't realise there was a very muddy crossing coming up and they were watching behind me (I think it would've been approx 30-40cm but covered in water - surely would have deeper spots) thought oh f**k that go thru so I did and managed get thru fine as liberty slide sideways in rear but went ok (with road tyres on!), a few metres up the hill I turned around to head back home, and went thru again and they saw me there, looked stunned at me but didnt say anything just gave em smirk look....
We need set a date to go on a trip thru the bush such as Kinglake or somewhere... We could meet at Kinglake Central pub car park... I'm sure i'll be able to join, I'm from Western Suburbs.
Cheers
