hey all,
Just abit more info please about a lift i am getting on my 05 foz, i have been told that i will probably have to replace the shockies as well when i get the springs done. Does anyone know if this is true or not??
It is got me worried, if i dont and i hit a bump to quick my shocky will be F**ked.
any help would be great.

As far as i know... if they are normal shocks u don't need to replace them. If they are self leveling then u will need new ones that are not self leveling. Some models had them... it may have been an option.

Springs don't fit or something like that i guess.
Suspensions part number books i have refered to state that if the suspension is self leveling then the shock must be replaced with a KYB strut if you are upgrading the springs.
Also i would bet the self leveling system would probably freak out if the springs didn't allow it to sit at the height they wanted to be set at... if that makes sence.
Think about it... self leveling systems are probably set to make the car sit at a particular height... so when u add weight they raise the car back up to that height... If the suspension is pushing that height WAY above it's set height it would be trying to lower the car all the time... most likely resulting in no suspension at all... just spring.
I have not experinced any of this cos my forester came with NON-leveling suspension but i read up a lot about it before i bought my forester.
