Forsale (E.O.I) EJ20 Conversion (free reg'd touring wagon attached :)
Forsale (E.O.I) EJ20 Conversion (free reg'd touring wagon attached :)
Everything is in the car and running well (No overheating etc.), it is a brown 85 Touring wagon with a Auto AWD EJ20 conversion,
still registered and perfectly drivable , has powersteering, elec windows (all work), central locking, immobiliser.
- 97 Impreza EJ20 SOHC conversion (~170,000km when put in) running well
- New headgaskets
- New waterpump
- New timing belt kit
- Full gasket kit done
- New fuel filters
- New Bosch VLT fuel pump
- Aftermarket Water temp gauge installed
- New custom 2 core radiator (spent $600)
- New Large auto transmission cooler
- Twin Electric Thermo fans with brackets
- New front rotors/pads
- Replaced rear drums and shoes with good cond. ones
- Impreza headers and cat merged to L-series rear exhaust system
- Four 13" good condition light truck tyres (Bigger sidewall)
- Front driveshafts done at Allan's CV
- Impreza AWD Auto 4.11 box
- Lib 4.11 diff w/L-series driveshafts
- Tailgate struts work well
- Push button engine start
- Factory bash plate
- All the lights work except park lights
The bad points are that there is rust in the gaurds and other usual places, there are dents all over the body, the bumpers are crooked,
passenger mirror is missing, crap paint, trim missing, interior is ok but lots of mud inside. Some exhaust leaks near the mufflers.
Also has no speedo or tacho or engine light etc. due to the conversion, just has water temp gauge wired in seperately.
Reason for selling is I have too many cars and am now buying a 4wd ute (for obvious advantages over the subaru lol) but this car has served me well and after the rebuild has never let me down.
Here is my build thread for reference: showthread.php?t=16572
EDIT: $1200
Cheers,
Pav

Pretty sure you'll find your manifold won't bolt up to that engine. Have a look at the injectors on Pav's engine, and whether it has a cam sensor. If those parts are different to your car, I'd recommend you look for another engine. Currently fighting a battle along those lines with my car.subasurf wrote:Hey mate, do you think this would be an easy swap into a 2001 EJ20SOHC forester, providing I swap over the intake manifolds to keep the MAP sensor? Do you know if the other sensors are different between the 1997 EJ20 and the type I'd have in my car?
(Sorry to scare off a potential buyer Pav)
