URGENT.. need AFM for 99 WRX

Post by RSR 555 » Sat Oct 20, 2012 6:48 pm

Hey ppls, I need urgent help. I need to know anyone with a working 99 model Subie. I would like try the AFM in my converted L.Series. Dave (subarino) has been working his magic on her and she starts but dies a few seconds later. We just need someone to drive to Rockingham and we can swap, then if all good we put it back. I will pay for your petrol and shout you a drink if you like? Taza has offered but unable to come till tomoz, unfortunately Dave is only at my new shop for today. If you can help, please call 0401363529

Cheers,
Paul

If you disconnect the faulty air flow meter, the engine should run.

Is it a green sticker air flow meter like early EJ20G, EJ22 and EJ25?

It doesn't have any place for a sticker, like the early EJ ones. This one is the one held in by 2 torq bits and has a 5 pin plug. Tried the unplug trick but due to running a PowerFC, it won't run without it.

Looks like Taza is coming to the rescue :) let's hope its the right one.

Big THANKS to Taza. He ran to the other side of town to borrow a part, then bring it all the way down to Rockingham. Cheers Tarran ;)

Pretty sure you would have found it hard to test in your car

But thanks anyway for the use of it.. you can have it back

I just found some on Ebay and Guyph thinks he might have one, so I'll see how it goes.
