mk heres the writeup:

after waiting for like an hour for tim we went to the pipidinni rd tracks, no probs with coppers/rangers- no where to be found(although we were told there were some on beach). So we started into it - bout 5k's in d3V1l got stuck on one side of a boggy hill, so andrew goes round the other side to pull him out- tries to turn around but gets stuck-wondering where his LSD went.
so after lots of digging mattims goes to pull him out. he gets bogged. more digging. then i pull andrew out. then tried to snatch D3V1L out from the crest of the hill but bogged down with us on either side held by a dangerously tensioned strap. meanwhile mattims is off happily sandboarding.

anyways after we got the strap disconnected andrew has a go pulling out dave whilst i notice a stuck poojero bogged with some clueless backpackers behind the wheel. couldnt do alot to help them snatchwise but told them some 4wd basics like letting tyres down. an old cruiser rocked up and helped them tho.
meanwhile one tow/tie point later andrew gets dave out. then dave's car starts playin up- losing power due to the dodgy afm wire. then we discover mattims car wont drive. so that gets towed halfway back until it magically works again. so we headed for home. we were only 4x4ing for like half an hour of the whole thing but was still pretty enjoyable.

Yes quite unfortunate that it was SO BOGGY! Very powdery sand indeed.

I always knew snatching people from those tie-down points was a bad idea. Didn't stop me tho! (same as poor Matt's roo-bar that time but we won't talk about that). Looks like I'm going to have to actually fit these rated hooks I've had sitting here for about a year. My tie-down point got ripped clean off and ended up in Dave's windscreen.
Thanks to Matt for pulling me off the edge of that track hehe, I should watch where I'm going whilst reversing a little more.
I think I redeemed myself in the end with my free towing service for Mattims. Made the old EJ work hard for that!
I would have loved to have tried to help that Pajero but just didn't have the time.

...Romeo Road next week?!?!

ps - dispite our cars not looking dirty at all I'd highly advise giving them a thourough squirt down to remove all the salty sand.

The body of the car. It was one of the factory tiedown points from the front of the car. Gimme a few minutes and I'll try and get a photo up...
