Spotted...Stewy at Perth Airport

Post by stewy » Fri May 18, 2007 8:52 pm

G'day fellas, I.'ve been working at Karrratha lately, flying in and out from Queensland. A mate up here thinks he saw a V8 suby,at Rockingham. May have been a ute or Coupe? Any goss on that one?

The airport thing was about introducing myself to the W. A. guys. Been a BYB member for a few years now but usually Qld based. I'm flying in/out of Karratha via Perth from Rockhampton on a 4 week on, 1 week off work thing.

My guess is your mate mistook a loud turbo boxer exhaust for that of a V8... a lot of my mates have done that in the past. Apart from the lumpiness I can't see much similarity personally though.

I say turbo exhaust because the stock header pipes are very uneven, giving a deeper and lumpier sound to the motor.

I think it could be done fairly easily....but certainly not using a Subaru gearbox!
