Thats a bit late in the day don't ya think.... considering the very high likelyhood that we will be towing at least one car home.

Im still only a possibility for this trip but i wouldn't meet up any later than about 9am.

so I gotta wake up at 7am?

In a world where working-class people rule, I guess I'm pretty stupid saying I can't do that. hell, 11am is too early for me.

You were bogged in the pines with the towbar making its own tracks in the sand........and you think you can compete with a Zook, Feroza and Lada.......your dreaming. Image Image Image

I won't have anything to do with the trip.

Nah I dont rekon anyone like that will go. I went with a bunch of those guys to the Powerlines recently (most of them in big ass rigs, only a couple of smaller ones) and they were all nice guys. Had all good comments from them about the Subaru etc (although I'm not overly sensitive to harmless ribbing here and there anyways!).
Being a forum with more than double the members of this one (and only perth based) it has more than it's fair share of utter pricks making stupid posts like that.

I'm impartial to it all guys, but still. I wouldn't mind smacking someone out. Violence might be wrong, but it outweighs pride. No one messes with the subarus!!!!!!

edit: you're right, I'm gay for saying that.

I agree Mike.. that was one of the reasons why i was considering not going... not interested in argueing or fighting with anyone... just want to go out and have a good day with good people.

As it is i don't think anyone has shown any interest on the Perth 4x4 anyways since Matt re-posted it.

Matt should we just cancel the invite on the Perth-4x4.net forum? If it's gonna cause less Subaru people to come then that's probably for the best.
Personally I think the more the merrier, recently it's been difficult to organise a Subaru-only trip with too many people's cars out of action or general lack of interest. But there seems to be lots of interest in this one for once so mabey we don't need the others?

They aren't a bunch of dicks, there are a few dicks on there but its cause of the sheer numbers. I would expect it highly unlikely for those particular people to show up and cause problems on a trip - its a very tightly regulated forum and if we reported their behaviour they would be banned. As I said, on the trip I went on it was fantastic, great bunch of blokes and I was all by myself too.
Anyways, just trying to be positive :)
Looking forward to some more offroading!

Why are we attempting to merge our Subaru bashing with Perth4x4?

I have seen many of them and have found those I had met to be good – blar blar blar

However if I wanted to go 4WDing with them I would log onto their web site (of which I am also a member) and join 1 of their trips. I am not wanting to argue or anything basically what I am saying is that I can not compete with a monster truck (which is a bummer) and actually enjoy the 4WDing challenges that we find with our Subaru’s. As you all know I am, all for pushing limits however they need to be in the realm of Subaru limits not having a whizzing contest with some other 4Wders.

Actually, in some small minded way, I actually like the exclusivity of our Subaru only membership.

Note that this is not at the determent of other friendships and I would hate to think that we would not allow non-Subaru’s people to tag along with us, camping blar blar blar.

The only reason I am not in for this trip at this stage is the location - we have done this trip about 6 times in all different seasons and are not interested in doing it again at this stage as it dose not change that much.

At this point I will start a new thread in the WA section.
Toyota 105 Series LandCruiser (that nobody on here wants to really hear about).
RX Touring Wagon - fitted out for 4WDing (currently collecting dust).
RX Project - will be road only at this stage (and currently taking way to long to finish).

Not attempting a merge or anything...
This was a trip originally organised by the Perth-4x4 people as a sortof competition for small 4x4's. Me, Matt and Alex all put our hands up for it cause it sounded like fun. Anyways that trip got cancelled because of the illegalities of holding a "competition" on DEC land. Anyways us Suby guys were still keen to go and do the trip wether it was a competition or not. (We love 4wheel driving). So Matt posted it up on the Perth4x4 forum as a separate trip to keep it alive and as he was kindof the person now organising it decided to post it on here aswell. Looks like not that many Perth4x4 people are gonna go now anyway so it's probably going to just be Subaru's anyway.
I think that was how it went Matt ??

I know most people have already done the powerlines treck but I'm still not sick of it, I certainly have never been bored there. It's certainly better than nothing anyways :) Also it's a great excuse to meet new members of the crew and pass on some of my experience of driving the treck.

But yeah hopefully some of us can get out doing recon more often. My time has been quite restricted of late.
That was actually the main reason I signed up for the Perth-4x4 forums....to see where other people are going!

Anyways this should be a good little trip.

that is what's happening. the backstory is that there was a trip planned on the perth4x4 forum for a small 4x4 challenge day. obviusly i wanted in and told a couple other subi guys who were keen. due to legal implications the thread/trip was cancelled. a few people seemed upset, so i made another "legal friendly" thread/trip. but now there is no interest and it doesnt look like anyone from perth4x4 is coming. but if they do im sure they will be nice guys wanting to 4x4, not willing to harrass us because of our cars. even if they do we will be in numbers!!!!:p
if u really want have a read of the thread- http://www.perth4x4.net/forum/showthread.php?t=10049

conversely many subaru members are interested which is awesome.
the location wasnt set by me but i dont mind the powerlines-its better than nothing. i cant wait.

Think alike har har - ya not wrong... Once again things are out of context.

If you want to enter a small 4WD contest then that’s just fine with me, we may have even gotten involved – spose we’ll never know now will we.

What I said was
Jaffa wrote: Why are we attempting to merge our Subaru bashing with Perth4x4?
I am not suggesting that we were being forced to merge I was just wondering why all the recent 4x4 net stuff had come from, as we have not gone 4WDing with them in the past/been a talking point before – I should also add that this is not a problem for me either, and I will also add that you are free to go 4WDing with whom ever you like whenever you like.

Now as for the trip itself what I said was
Jaffa wrote: The only reason I am not in for this trip at this stage is the location - we have done this trip about 6 times in all different seasons and are not interested in doing it again at this stage
And let me draw this specific point out… WE as in US as in JAFFA and Co are NOT INTERESTED. We all have our own reasons for going or not going on 4WD trips and this was ours. We do not care why you are going, or I would have posted something like why are you doing here? Or this trip? AGAIN?!?!? But I did not, All I said is that we were out and gave a plan, honest and I though no criticism answer.

As for this point/idea/comment (no specific quote) “…it better then nothing…” I will be blunt and very rude – so you have been warned. Then where is your sense of adventure the only reason why you do nothing or go the same places is anybody’s guess!!! Get off ya ass (get a book or net or other forums or talk to people or whatever) take 1 other car (for safety reasons) and piss off somewhere different.

You think that we have not been 4WDing in the last few months?!?!?

If you think that we have not then your sorely mistaken. We have not been catch up because at one point there have been several Subaru’s out of action (and I am sure that this included us at 1 point) and since then all the proposed trips have been trips we have not been interested in, eg Romeo Rd/ Pines/Lancelin/Mundaring over n over n over again so we have not been tagging along as we have been there done that. We on the other hand have however gotten of our ass’s and gone looking at different places n things. What didn’t you know you can do that in WA??? Of course you can, cause if you have not noticed WA is FREAKEN HUGE, very remote and who knows you may find a track you have not driven before.

Maybe it’s a state thing, who knows all I can say is don’t waste it or miss out on it by doing the same shit all the time or you’ll end up like the other states with track closures and then its to late the only place you can go 4WDing is at 4WDing parks. With the “larger” 4WD.

Reads like there will be a fat cat amounts the pigeons (read moderators editing) and plenty of hate mail.

Who knows, maybe we’ll see you out there, as we look forward to it some time in the near future (hopefully sooner rather then later).
