i need a bash plate b4 i can do any 4x4in any1 who has seen my car will deffently agree with me on that n i need to swap the diff over but i got a 3.9 now so basicly im askin where other people got the bash plate made or the material from n wat its mounted to cause the orignal mountin seams fairly weak

i know of a 3.9 welded diff that should be coming out of justins car very soon.
as for the bash plate id say get it done from 3-5mm thick steel. mine is 1.6 and def too thin for big hits but does the job for the smaller bumps. it mounts to some tophat steel i tek'd to the metat under the stoneguard- but yours may be different being MY

Get 2 Std bash plates and follow the instructions in the tech section of the QLD club site (on here). I have done mine this way and it works a treat. The Std one will fit with a 2" lift if you just elongate the holes with a file and bend it slightly along the back edge - you can bend it ih a vice. The bash plate bolts to the crossmember which is quite strong. Better to throw away a bash plate than something more serious!

I'd advise to go for some ally checkerplate. It's tough stuff and light weight.
I would mount it from the bullbar right through to under the gearbox mounts.
For your car perhaps go extreme like the one in BrumbyRunner's thread - it's quite large

i think that there is a little more needed then 2 plates joined together:P

MASSIVE surface area is needed

AFTER ALL...he has basically gotta cover an ENTIRE engine

i now have a bash plate just gotta mount it to the car it will run from bull bar to mid crossmember its made of bout 3mm plate steel n it runs from the bull bar brackets either side it could b a bit excessive but ahwell bigger is better

steel....must weigh heaps??
