action packed weekend ;)

4wding mixed with some Buggy Driving.

My 'MY' Tourer, Jussy's (BRAND NEW!) 4WD TD 3.0L Rodeo, and ofcourse D3V1L Dave's new to him Buggy.

Few close calls, few repairs while 'in action', few snatches :p.

First Snatch...Muddy Tracks and bottomed out caused no wheel grip.

Hows that one for lucky??
almost drove over the cliffs edge...maybe a 15 to 20 Foot drop down to flat ground.

it was an awesome test run

did have a few minor hiccups (to be expected)

excessive thrashing snapped the gearbox mount and gearbox nearly fell out ofd the bottom of the buggy and as a result ****ed out all the gear stick linkages and all that crap...so mondays task....to strengthen and refabricate everything and anything that holds the gearbox and motor to the car and improve on the semi dodgy gear selector.....caus it was gettting annoying after a while having stiff as shit clutch and hard to find gears

I think you'll find there is a fuel pump looking thing on top of the crank case. This, if its there, is only good for sucking fuel when the fuel level is above the pump - it won't suck against gravity. I really don't know why its there.

I don't think our buggy ever idled. Our trick was to wire up the throttle and choke so the choke was pretty much closed when there was no throttle, then as throttle was applied the choke opens with it. Other than that we never really needed the engine to idle anyway - we always had the foot in or needed some engine braking at speed ;)

Cheers

i knew it, i tried to rejig the fuel lines to go lower than the carb, but was restricted from the way the liens were run. :/ it was high at a kite to start off with

nah...having the fuel lines where they are are not a problem..it has not been a problem for the 12 years the buggy has been around.....there is a lot of underlying issues that im slowly sorting out..mostly caus it sat for nearly 2 years without being run... nearly there
