RE - Dodgy Brothers from hell!

GOOD-YEAR..??? YA RIOT!!! What-ever

If you WA boys want a decent job on new tyres, wheel balance and alignment...do NOT go to Good-Year Tyre and Auto Ctr in BELMONT.

I had new tyres put on my REX recently and they botched up the job in every conceivable way possible.

First their wheel balance machine was out of calibration so my wheels where unbalanced. When I called, they said they had heaps of complaints, but do you think they gave me a courtesy call to warn me. Nuh!

The following weekend I tried to book my car in for them to repair their stuff up. 'Sorry, we are closed that Saturday, boss gave us all the day off'. How can they do this after a week or so of stuffed up balance jobs???!!

So, they told me to go to Tyrepower in Midland the following Sat to re-do my balance for them, which I did. But as soon as I get on the highway....NO improvement whatsoever!

To make things worse, a few days after my new tyres went on, I had a slow tyre leak. Turned out they also stuffed up one of the tyre valves, as it was sticking out on a 45 deg angle. When I tried to change the tyres, the lug nuts where done up sooooooo bloomin tight I thought Id snap my wrists trying to get em off. It took two the combined strength of me and a guy friend of mine to finally get them off.

So Im off to see good ol Goodyear Belmont tomorrow morning to fix my balance for the SECOND time. Then this morning, I noticed that some of my 'unidirectional' tyres were put on backwards!!

When I spoke to their Head Office in Vic, they tell me they cant do much cos this store is a Franchise so they have virtually no authority over them.

So I would strongly recommend avoiding these supposed 'TYRE SPECIALISTS' at all costs!

i beg to differ. not so much on the tyre balancing side, but these guys have been my trusted mechanics firstly on my first L and then on this one when i dont know how to fix somthing. Dad's landy is also serviced by them. although the manager recently changed they have still given me quality service and at very good labour rates, no job is too big.

Sounds like the norm these days, stingy bastards.

BTW love that Yellow Wagon L-Raiser.
