Yups that may very well be the best place to go in, nice quarry to play in there and will lead to anywhere else in the pines if you take the right tracks.
At the 2 other main entrances there will be a lot of people with their trailers all parked up and riding there bikes around.

I havent been to the Pines before, im going to see if i can give it a visit sometime in Novemeber.
So is it just west of Whiteman Park? I havent been there before so i wouldnt have a clue. Looking at a map now, and all i see is vacant space here and there, my guess im looking at where the old market gardens are.
What are the other points of entry? Cross Roads, streets, directions?
Cheers.

The Main entrance is heading EAST on GNANGARA road just before BEECHBORO road a big limestone track.
alternatively yes NORTH on BEECHBORO road past Whiteman Park then at the end take a LEFT then fairly quick RIGHT
Otherwise there is an entrance off of SYDNEY road (off GNANGARA road) which is basically follow SYDNEY road to the end and it loops right then turns into limestone.
then simply drive anywhere through the sand and there is some semi decent areas in the pines.
Both those areas have a lot of Guys with trailers parked up and dudes riding bikes around during the days.
you could spend hours driving through the pines and you still wont have seen half of it
if your going to 4wd then head in through the lights heading North at the GNANGARA road, ALEXANDER drive intersection and loop around to the sand bowl there.

The 'main track' people speak of is a marked road you can find in the map book, its called Centre Way just off Gnangara Rd.

I wonder if there's an entrance in ellenbrook? The new bit in the north is still mostly bush, there's bound to be tracks through there.
