Brumby/EJ25 conversion wiring harness

Post by Corax » Tue Apr 07, 2009 9:27 pm

Hey WA Suba dudes,

Does anybody out there know someone who is full bottle on wiring harnesses in WA? I want to put a 2002 impreza EJ25 into my brumby but basically know bugger all about harnesses. My main problems being I think the harness I got with the moter is incomplete and I am missing the various sensors (airflow etc). Thanks for any help you can give.

Cheers,
Corax.

Hit up Subarino with some questions, he's the only one I know in WA who is full bottle on the subject!

You don't need to cut rails if you are putting in a twin cam motor.

Isn't it a SOHC engine? I thought the impreza were SOHC not DOHC?

lol.....the old confusing cams thing :)

In this case I think Outback Bloke is referring to the SOHC engine when he says TwinCam.
SOHC means 1 cam on each head. But it's a Subaru engine, so 2 heads, which means 2 cams.....so some people call them a Twincam.

If it's a DOHC then it has 2 cams on each head (like a twincam in a Corolla), but there are 2 heads, so 4 cams......some people call these a Quad Cam.

It's only the Quadcam engines that are too wide and need the chassis rails cut in a Brumby.

I think the Impreza EJ25's of that era were the SOHC ones so should be fine to fit in this case.

Yes that is what I mean. I base it on the stickers on the RS turbo doors seeing as though they were the first with that motor. They call it a quad cam.

Hi guys,

Yeah the moter is SOHC na type and I have measured it and in theory it should fit without chopping the rails. One of the main reasons I went for this moter actually cause I have heard that once you start chopping stuff it becomes a real drama to get it licenced. Cheers for the info AndrewT, will try to get in contact with subarino and sort my harness issues!

Cheers,
Corax.

If you have tryed to get a hold of me you have failed so far. I have cut down probably over 10 EJ hanesses... 2 of them being Ej25 so i should be able to offer some assistance.

Best bet is to add me to MSN or email me (davem2000@hotmail.com).... im not on this site very often.

I think that's known as the EJ25D
