Hi mate I can not see any oil leaks, I removed the fly wheel & its all good there as well.sorry I can not help you with a d/r gear box at this point of time.
O , all I know the motor was a driver , There is no water in the oil.
I may be able to get my bell housing back to do a compression test
cheers

EJ22ute, if I get seagull's engine, I'll have an unused top end gasket set available for a very good price.

I am after a awd d/r 5 speed box . Only problem is, i send heaps of messages to keffa and never get a reply. Last time i tried to contact keffa was about a clutch pack lsd diff.

Actually I'll be selling an AWD one myself soon. It's a 1999 Outback gearbox, 5spd dual range with hydraulic operated push clutch. Comes with fork, slave cylinder, master cylinder, clutch, pressure plate and flywheel. Pressure plate was custom beefed up to 2200pounds and the clutch still works well - held the power of an EJ20turbo perfectly fine.
It's got probably about 280,000kms on the gearbox at an estimate, still works good. PM me if interested.
