250 NM torque wrench???

Post by vidler » Fri Jul 31, 2009 7:50 pm

does anyone have a 250 nm torque wrench i can borrow for an afternoon? Want to torque up all the bolts on the liberty correctly and the control arm mounts need to be 245nm. My wrench only goes to 200... and what a bloody struggle that is. not sure if i can give it and extra 45nm unless its got a decent length handle.

Cheers, Jay

vidler. 250mn is close to 25kg at 1m. so find long bar, measure and use bathroom scales, fish scales, whatever. so 25kg@1m =12.5@2m. work with what you have. hope that is clear, i got 10kg fish scales and bar long enuf. but i in kenwick. id prob go to 200 then give it a bit more!

thanks everyone, subarino has a 12v impact wrench thats goes to 340nm so will do it nice and tight with that. Its the rear mounts on the control arms up front.

will give it a squirt with the impact and that should do it. feel sorry for anyone getting em off next time:)

Bugger me that sounds excessive! I thought the 196nm needed on the castle nuts was huge...
