The WA Subaru 4wd club is running a trip to the Lancelin sand dunes next Sunday 22 November. It's usually a good day out, with the cars split into two or three groups for different levels of ability.

I'll be there if I can get the new engine into my wagon in time.

More details here, look at the November newsletter.

Newbies and non-members welcome.

haha. I haven't been out with the WA Subaru Club since I was a kid. But, of course, I'm working that weekend so I won't be able to take the outback out for a spin. :( Have fun!

Note the "where to meet" in that page you posted. It's a spot on the western side of Wanneroo Rd, a few km north of the big Joondalup drive intersection. Just keep cruising up Wanneroo Rd until you see a mass of Subarus. If you have a radio, be on channel 16.

Edit - here it is

Been waiting for something like this to come up, haven't had it off road since it was regoed so hopefully I can make it as I'm off to China for a few months minimum on the 29th, shame I won't have time to get the hi/lo box, bash plate & genuine Subi front bar done in time.
Someone should buy it off me and use it as it's gonna sit in storage for up to 2 years.

I wouldn't mind a trip like this but unfortauntely the wagon doesn't have much ability just yet being only RWD. Later on when it's 4x4 I'd be up for this in a snap.

Come on, you've got heaps of time to finish Monster. Or maybe bung some lifted springs into the Legacy and bring that :p

If stock turbo Foresters can handle it, your WRX should be fine.

More pics from previous years here.

Everyone who has said they're in - please make sure you call and put your name down with the trip leader. Being an organised club trip, they like to know who/how many to expect.

Wow, you got that licence quickly.

Whatever you think is an appropriate time to call someone you don't know.

As far as I can recall, it's just a stock basic EA81, and I'm pretty sure the current owner has had it for many years.

Sounds like several good reasons to give yourself a day off to play in the sand.
