Post by Morcs » Sat Jan 08, 2011 7:10 pm

Were is the best place to get front shafts made for my brumby
Has a BG5 (ej20tt) gearbox goes to Standard Brumby outer

Pretty sure its 25spline inner for the ej series gear box need confirmation

By the way How much longer are the L series mpfi shafts
So many optioins not enough time or money:confused:

Can't help with sizes but the BG5 GT/GTB has the identical box to my V3 STI (4.44 box) therefore all 5 speed WRX/Liberty/Impreza fronts have the same spline if that helps as they all interchange, rears are a different story.

Got it all running interested in using l series ones for the extra length in the front end for more Camber as the Brumby ones i have in it are at there extremes.

Looking at buying a second set of front shafts for experimentation hoping the l series are about 20mm longer each side. And also then run the l series control arms and rack ends.

Already have castor adjustment in place its running about 2.2 degrees castor wanting more but i only now have about 10mm clearance between tyre and guards when it goes to turn sharply.

If you want to use L.Series ones then look for a set from an EFI or Turbo L as they have the 25 spline inners and the outers will go straight into your Brumby steering knuckle :) no need to modify any.. off the shelf items

Edit: sorry just remembered, you may need to change the inner seal on the steering knuckle to suit the L shaft (99% sure but been a few years since I did it)
