Pines day trip... Anyone?

Post by guyph_01 » Mon Feb 07, 2011 11:41 pm

Who's up for a day trip at the pines?
I was thinking of doing a small day trip at the pines just to get back in the 4WD sand driving spirit. I was thinking this weekend either the 12th or 13th?

Byo lunch and drinks, can't be bothered carrying the bbq in my wagon since my bro's brumby is off the road for a while.

Most probably have my Mauritian mates and there suby's:)

Anyone interested?

Has anyone tried or thought of going from Burns Beach to Yanchep, looking at Google maps there are plenty of tracks, yeah might be up for the pines.

Yeah, any 4WD welcome.. I was thinking the pines as its not to far as I still didn't take the car offroad since I changed the clutch, plus I have a wired noise coming from the rear so don't really want to break down at Yanchep.
Plus i've only been to the pines once and just want to get to know the place more..

the pines is almost at the end of my street, but i dont think i can get there this week? :(
i have found some sort of hidden lil sand tracks with a few good hills, but you need about 10-12LB in your tires, any more and you'll sink, it's pretty darn soft....
i have them recorded on gps, XD

wish i could go, good simple meeting place is the large entrance on nangara road, about 300m east of beechboro rd intersection, explore to your hearts content from there,
there will be random tracks all over the place, its easy to get disorientated, take a gps to help get you home!!
i have to try and get the gps points uploaded for future reference,
have fun guys!!! i might be able to go at night? at about 6,30pm?? i'll come look for you guys?? haha
have fun lads,

Still unsure if I'll go, if you make a meet & leave time at the entrance mentioned above & I turn up then I'm going, if I'm not there leave without me& have fun, never been in there before & wouldn't mind having a gander.

I am pretty much in same boat as Tom. I have my foz all up, going and licensed now. Wouldn't mind a bit of a run in the dirt with it. It is completely stock N/A other than slightly taller springs. Will depend on what the other half allows...

Hepburn Ave, about 10.00am- spotted D-Generate and two sweet lifted "L" wagons heading out. Was mildly excited and got told off by the wife. Hopefully next time the GD Impreza will be ready to come and join you guys!! Hope it was a good outing!

Hey Jayd, yeah it was pretty good but I think once is more than enough, the place is a dust-bowl, I was lucky I just ran the air con all day so I managed to keep the inside relatively clean & I think we all had a shot at getting bogged, some of those little side tracks are pretty soft, we even had to give up on one as each car got progressively bogged (except mine lol) over about a 1km stretch but we've all pretty much decided the beach tracks are more fun and a lot cleaner....especially for those without air con.
I gave my new Dobinson springs a fair hammering & all I can say is brilliant & very comfy.
So maybe a trip from Burns Beach to Yanchep as something different next time though I'd love to do an overnighter in Lanno & know a pretty good camping spot next to the beach.
Be good to see something a bit different out there with a GD, how long till it's ready for a trial.
