as an owner of a gen1 liberty hack seems ill-fitting, maybe... engineering marvel next time? ;)

foolish to buy a sedan? found a nice full dual range sedan for cheap.

would be nice to still have a 4wd to do afew beach runs etc.

patrol is pretty much sold now (didnt even need to advertise it!)

awesome to hear Alex, hope you find one.
You say one day you'll turn it into something special. I bet that will start from only a few weeks into it. Parts come up forsale here and there, you grab them, stick them on, eventually you'll have Wanky Wagon version2.0!

Probably firstly you'll find some mags to stick on (who wants original rims with hubcaps).
Maybe then some new shocks and springs to replace worn out ones.
Maybe then a canon muffler.
Maybe then a 2 or 3" lift, or just strut tower extensions to help with the occasional offroading.

I occasionally think of rebuilding Monsterwagon into a Gen1 lib body.

ps, eww sedan? You know you're a wagon man :) Sedan's are farking annoying for camp trips or other situations when you need to chuck stuff in.

Only if you're swapping all the good bits into a wagon...

Totally agree Andrew - once you go wagon you don't go sedan... not quite the same ring to it as another saying but hopefully you get the picture!

Good to hear you're headed back into a semi offroading subaru!

Cheers

Yeah should do well.
As you know from experience, you could pop the motor at some stage, but they're cheap and easy to swap.
Also with kms like that you'd probably have to deal with the occasional wheel bearing, CV issue, maybe steering rack leak or loosness.
So long as you haven't sold your tools and don't mind using them every now and then, that will do you well!

If you can't be assed with that stuff any more you might need to raise the budget and aim for a gen2 or even gen3.

Good shit, can't wait.
I was remembering you said the other day you aren't into modding cars anymore. I call B/S, I'm confident I shall be proved right a few months into a possibly upcomming "Alex's Gen1 Wagon" members' rides thread. :)

the hunt continues, i went and looked at the white wagon with gold rims, smokers car, stunk like shit, hood lining hanging, whiney gbox, clutch was stuffed, the shifter linkages were loser than a you know what, and thats all from a 5min test drive, didnt even look under the bonnet at any mechanicals.

Dunno if it's auto or manual though, I couldn't hear it over Monsterwagon and couldn't quite see it's centre console.
