Red Hill OffRoad trip Sat 18th
Na mate, not an issue. Doubt you will get stuck anyway. If you do just get 4 guys and lift the back end outRumbl1n wrote:Hey guys I'm in will be great to meet some new people and hopping you can all give me good advise as driving off road is new to me (hopefully I don't annoy you all with questions) I don't have any recovery gear will this be a problem?
I am deferantely coming along, was a long day today but atleast it means I can come tomorrow
Is the time and meeting place still the same?
I have only been on one run with these fellas, so i am not a full bottle on it. you say new to off road, so i will write everything even if its obvious.
you wont need recovery gear, the other guys should have some. chuck in a shovel if you can, you can normally pretty much lift a brumby out of sand anyway.
if you have access to a 2 way radio, definitely take that. hopefully someone will have a spare if you dont.
have you got your 14s on? at stock hight you will struggle in places, with the 14s you should be fine. I was just running 14s and a small strut lift and had no trouble. Get there with a full tank of fuel, you shouldn't need more than that (if these guys are at their best, you will be drinking cc's in the ocean by mid morning ).
A pressure gauge and compressor would go a long way, you can borrow someone elses if you dont have them. If you are struggling in the sand, let your tyres down more. probably start around 15psi, be prepared to go as low as 6-8 if it gets tough. be aware that doing drifts and driving over rocks can damage your tyres when they are that low, but its the best thing on sand.
remember food and drink, nothing worse than being hungry out there.
also, if you think your suby's exhaust is loud... dont worry, you wont be able to hear it behind the others I think the hatchie isn't going, but that is truly amazing!
you will have fun, great bunch of guys to hang out with

Knowing the history of you old car, the amounts of break downs and considering it had to put down, i think you got it the wrong way around:)

just wait until youre car reaches the same amount of relentless 4wding i subjected good old wanky wagon to. Every l-series would be subject to a premature death 18psi doesnt help either.guyph_01 wrote:Knowing the history of you old car, the amounts of break downs and considering it had to put down, i think you got it the wrong way around:)

It was a good day, even though there were 2 flat tyres, 2 broken rear axles and mine had this horrible knock coming from the front somewhere.....didn't stop the car so just kept going lol.
I'm pretty sure everyone got bogged at least once but not too badly and by far the most beach driving we've done in the Two Rocks area.
