4wd at 2 rocks/lancelin

Post by MTB92 » Fri Apr 06, 2012 8:05 pm

If anyone is interested, my self and a mate are taking an L series out to two rocks or lancelin tomorrow for a bit of a play. If anyone is interested in coming out for a muck around send me a pm. we are just going to be driving around exploring and testing out his new EJ :D

If you leave me a mob number, I can get back to you :)

haha, we actually did a fair bit of driving Guy, not too much drinking CC's in the water this time. and much nicer weather!! but the sand was heaps softer too. and D_gen, no more bloody flies ;)

first drive of an EJ'ed L series, and the power when ever you need it is awesome!! :D
we did get quite stuck on the beach at one stage, a dude came down on his quad and told us we should never drive on that bit of beach bla bla... after the usuall do you have low range and have you let the tyres down questions he gave us a push. once the sump was off the deck, managed to get the car into a 50 odd meter drift down the beach and up onto the dunes again. needless to say the dude was quite impressed with the car, and said he wished he had filmed it cos it looked awesome  they reckoned they could see the sand flying up over the dune even when the car was out of sight .

see if i can get a couple of pics up later, we forgot to take pics of anything too specky though!

aww, i have far too much uni stuff to even think about it. :(
besides, still dont actually have the lift back in yet.

the POA:
get bonnet re-painted, fix tacho mount and make spare wheel bracket during exam period (next 4 weeks).
get the engine number changed (asap after exams)
then spend a week or 2 getting the lift back in, wheels big tyres etc after rego is properly sorted.

then, i will want to take it for a good thrashing on the dunes (i still haven't been in MY car since it was EJ'ed, but want to do this properly before i put the lift in (its like my insurance to finishing the job)). so give me 6 weeks or so weeks, and i will be there!

anyway, as you were....
