Im chasing a clutch spring for a 1996 imprezza.

What spring? The little ones that hold the throw-out bearing to the fork. Best bet is to buy them new from Subaru, about $12 i think

Sorry i mean the clutch arm return spring that goes from the arm to the engine so the fork will return to position .

You can buy springs of various lengths at hardware stores.

I don't think they had one.... Always saw them only on turbo or hydrolic type....

All Subaru manual cars will have a spring on the Clutch Fork. Most of them use the 'Hill Brake' return spring to pull the Fork/Release Bearing away from the Clutch Pressure Plate.

Those postie red rubber bands are handy - sorted a hoist safety lever out with a pair 20 years ago - application still doin' fine :D
