Wanted- Gen 2 Liberty/ Outback bullbar

Post by JPM » Wed Nov 07, 2012 12:58 am

Hey all-

As stated in the thread title, I want a Gen 2 Liberty or Outback bumper replacement bullbar!

Surely KPM has one in stock, maybe Paul found one under a pile of parts during the great workshop move of 2012, either way I want one.

Cash waiting, can swap a standard Gen 2 GX Liberty bumper in part exchange if for some strange reason somebody wanted to remove theirs and sell it to me??

Thanks and happy hunting (for a bullbar for my Lib).

Jayd

Sorry Jayd.. if we found one during the great move, I would have been stoked too, as I'd like one for my 98 Outback.

If you end up finding a couple, let me know ;)

I have been eyeing off one on a large orange wagon but somehow I don't think the owner will let me have it

Very rare even at KPM, Expect to pay millions if i find one. However, I know where to get some off different cars. might be able to make up brackets and make them fit.

Paul ill trade you this secret of another:p

I've spoken to Irwin Bullbars, and they can still make one for me, but the price is prohibitive at $1850.00.

I'll either find one second hand (eventually) or get one custom made like the 'Mudrat 79' style ones from the American Subaru sites such as;

http://www.google.com.au/imgres?q=outba ... s:46,i:278

or

http://www.google.com.au/imgres?q=subar ... =111&ty=96

Can anybody weld, bend pipe and custom make a few bullbars for a low low price? If so, I think I have a proposition for you!!

Regards
Jayd

Pretty sure they would look as good on the gen1 and 2 also.

Jayd, those ones are off Gen3 models but I guess you're just looking at the design. I had one made up for my L.Series back in 92 by Walliston Steel Products. It was a alloy one and cost me around $700 but this was way back when my first 3 bedroom house cost me $74,000, so prices will be close to around the $1500 mark nowdays.
