Need to get away trip :)

Post by RSR 555 » Sat Oct 19, 2013 4:58 pm

Ok, so lets throw some ideas around and see what everyone is up to and what they think would be a good weekender or something else?

I know long weekends are good for most people but it means that everyone else in WA is doing the same, so what do you think about having a long weekender outside the normal public holidays? Maybe just take a day or 2 off work, not suggesting sickies but more like 1 or 2 out of your normal holidays?

I personally would like to get up to Greenough to catch some warmer weather

Edit:

Dates? How does the first weekend in November (2nd and 3rd) sound? I think I'll stay for 4 days, probably Friday till Monday but others are free to come and go as they please.

Edit #2

Confirmed Dates are November the 1st until the 4th. I will be leaving Perth around 9am, so I'll be at S-Bend between 1 and 2pm. As mentioned before, you are free to come and go whatever days suit you best but I will need to know who's in, so we can work out prices.

Confirmed going:

Paul and Son in Yellow MY T/wagon - 1st to the 4th
Wayneo in Silver L.Series S/wagon - 1st to the 4th
Ken in god knows what? - 1st to the 4th
Doug in Red MY T/wagon - 1st to the 3rd
Nigel in White SG Foz - 2nd to the 4th (Not sure about the 1st yet??)

Confirmed NOT going:
Dan - Red Gen2 Brumby - some lame excuse about going back to work FIFO (those FIFO guys are all the same)

S-Bend would be ideal as we have showers and cooking facilities. A great place to set up base camp.. I'm all for this :)

Don't forget peeps.. I also need dates on what suits you best :)

The more the merrier. I don't think my other half will come but I'm sure the kids would love to go. We'll see closer to time, who comes and what not

Sounds good Doug. I just got word (via email) today that my CV shaft will be fix by this Wed, so I'll be able to pick it up and try it out... crossing fingers and toes

Cool.. no worries. Might even take a run down to Tim's Thicket just to test it out before the trip to S-Bends

As for camping at S-Bends, I have booked 3 campsites. 1 powered and the other 2 just grassed but with tree coverage. I've asked for all 3 to be altogether and people can bring their fridges and plug into the power. I was thinking that we could get a couple of tents on each site but depends on how many come. I'm taking my camper trailer and I can bring the 30 second tent if anyone wants to use it? There is a campers kitchen with 2 bbq plates, sink, kettle and 2 park bench table thingies under a tin roof. It's really cool spot and only a couple of mins to the beach.

I'm good for late Sat night (after work @ 5:30pm) - Tuesday morn at the moment, S bend just under 3 hrs away from Kalbs, so yeah count me in.

If anyone needs a large tent I also have one spare.

Ps: is this a Subi run or just a get together ??

I also have a large 3 room 10 man tent if you want to bring the fam, even if they come down after school? I'll be bring who ever wants to come from my fam. I know Jayson will come for sure, Mum will be working unless she can get a couple of days off. If she can, then pretty much the 4 youngest will be there.
