Heads up

Post by JPM » Thu Nov 21, 2013 11:21 pm

Saw this, thought that someone on here is best placed to give it a new home;

Pickles are auctioning this on the 27th of November in Perth:

http://www.pickles.com.au/damaged-salva ... 1552155063

My guess is someone is going to score a bargain.

Regards
Jayd

With tyres that big and a bog stock EA81 he probably didn't have enough power to get home

Wish that auction was here, somebody will get a good deal I'm sure.
Will it ever end!?

What would that be, a 6 inch lift or something? You'd think there'll be no one bidding on that at Pickles.

Wow that's an awesome looking brumby, hopefully someone on here will buy it!
Will be interesting to find out why they abandoned it. From the photos it might have some under dash wiring issues?

Are members (looking at you Paul and Guyph) looking to buy it, do it up and on sell it, or are you planning to keep it? Just wondering because Im starting to get the itch for a brumby again but there is no way I could get to Perth for the auction. Plus there is no room at the house Im in until I sell my GT forester.:-(

I can't afford it at the moment and Paul and now his son are both collection cars, pretty sure they will keep it from the way they talked about it, unless some random WA guy we don't know pay a huge amount for it!

Yeah know what you mean about not having any money, seems to be how I roll. Good thing we know rich people like Paul who can buy cars like this and then take photos and put them up so us poor folk can look on in envy!
Seriously though Paul it would be good if you buy it, it would be interesting to see whats wrong with it and how hard it would be to get it rego'd with those wheels on it!

I've been over to Pickles today to look at this Brumby. They will not allow anyone to view the cars up for auction until the day of the auction. This doesn't give you much time to go over it but as they said, you are buying the car as is, so it's a big gamble on whether it works or not. As I have plenty of parts for the MY Series models, then I'm happy to take the gamble. Jayson is the one interested in it, as I already have another Brumby that he wanted until he saw this one had twin headlight and targa tops.

While we were there we saw plenty of car that were burnt to a crisp. Lots of Commodore and Falcons but there was one (actually 2) that made me cry.. there was a Brumby that was completely gone and I couldn't believe it, it was burnt beyond recognition. The other was a 07 Impreza hatch but the Brumby was the saddest thing I've seen in a long time.

If we end up with this little Brumby, then I'm sure you'll hear lots more about it, as Jayson has some "BIG" plans for it.. so we'll see how we go.

I wish I knew some rich people too but I'm just lucky I have a wife that understands my passion for Subaru. Now Jayson seems to share my passion for the greatest car on the planet and I'm sure you'll see a few out of the ordinary ones come from him in time to come.

Yeah Dave, if we are lucky enough to get this Brumby then I'm sure you'll see a lot more pics about it. I'll go right over it and see what and why it was abandoned.

And your detective mind is at it's best... classic jay = Jayson :) well done Watson ;-)

Sorry mate, I've already told Subarino Dave about it - but haven't heard anything back so I don't know if he'll be looking into it as a potential targa that he's after...

Cheers
