I would say save the $3 its going to cost you to do it and put it towards something more constructive, like an EJ conversion.
Painted mudflaps aren't going to let you burn off Commodores.

or... save for a brick.
might not be able to beat the arse out of commodores, but you can certainly put that rear VT quarter panel in its place with your mighty limestone hand.
might cost a bit more than three bucks if you're not fast enough to run away though.

Hi Alex,
Well...coming from someone who has HAD colour coded mudflaps etc for 5 years now. You should know that they wont take much pounding or rough treatment. Even with solid prep of sanding the guards and using quality plastic/rubber Primers, they are still easy to chip or scratch. I have had to re-touch my guards three times in 5 years now....but still I feel its worth it for that modern, clean look.
Another reason why I'm eagerly awaiting my lift kit, it will raise my vulnerable guards a lil further away from possible harm.... hehe
This is why I also replaced my front bumber with an aluminium one, so that it could be colour coded AND take the punishment a bit better than plastic...
I almost repainted my car in white again, but I felt like a change and wanted my car to look younger....

...Yeah that is quite possible....I always try to recognize other Subi Drivers on the road, especially other 'L' Drivers...
It wasnt Welshpool Rd was it...?
Coz I had an interesting meeting with one guy with a lifted white 'L' once, we swapped mobile numbers at the traffic lights. VERY strange thing to do I know...hehe. I ended up sending him the web link to the 'Subaru 4WD Club of WA'.
Somehow I dont think that was you though...hehe
