Don't know if this is the best section so sorry if it is not.

I have cross posted this from another area as I recon some of you would like to see it. I can still not host pics so if someone PM's me an e-mail i can get them to host the pics for me - lets just say the pics are worth it, there is not much of this car left (although it may make a decent front cut).


This happened in Kalgoorlie Saturday night (10/03/07)...

VU SS torn in half @ 150kmh !!


At about 6pm tonight the ute below was travelling down a 50kmh zone @ an eye witness estimate between 150-200.
They have gone through 1 of Kalgoorlie notorious spoon drains and launched into the air , upon bouncing back to earth something broke and the driver lost control.
They have jumped the curb and launched passenger side on into the tree pictured.
It has literally torn the ute in half , seperating fuel tank, rear firewall , tray , bumpers and tray liner.
In the photo from side on of the cab you can see the fuel tank on the ground between the police.
The owner of the ute is just 21 and hasnt had the car for long , he was not driving his mate was at age 17 , in one of the pics there is a Cougar can on the ground next
to the car and witnesses say they appeared to be drunk.
Initial reports were the owner was out of the ute yelling at his mate 'look what you have done to my ute' , the driver was laying on the ground.
Both got away with only scratches and the driver had a bruised shoulder and is also getting charged with reckless driving.
Let this be a reminder oncer again that speeding , alcohol and inexperience just do not mix !!!

That is a clean cut if ever I've seen one. The front end of the car appears to be relatively intact.... anyone in need of an LS1 should keep an eye out in Kal! Can't beleive even the rims and tyres seem to be intact.

Good to hear noone was seriously hurt. Lessons learnt are drinking and driving is not a good idea and an oxy torch is a better tool than a tree if you want to make a front cut.

i think its the bogan way of making front cuts

holy moly howd they walk out of that one. very lucky. poor ute.
