Not sure what your trips are like Brendon however we have been on quite a few trips and not busted to much (with the exception of the spilt hose in Dwelling up and I think that that was just plan bad luck) all other damage for us is the result of either pushing limits on a track or from being stupid and personally I prefer the former rather then the later.

Its all top secret… you should know this by now ;-)

Well we would have gone south with you however we were on the east coast so missed out on that 1.

It is my understanding that Dave (Subarino) and Dave (Devil) did some more recon of some other tracks up in Jarrahdale around the same time so this could be an option, however with the recent rain could be a disaster waiting to happen as well (I am sure we all remember what that was like last time there in the rain) – still could be an option and those that want damage are bound to find it.

There is a full 2 days of 4WDing camping trip that Dave (all these bloody Dave’s - Subg) and I recon’ed in Nannup a few months ago which will sort the men from the boys, unfortunately unless we get just a little more sun and the place dries out we can not do this 1.

NOTE that lift, 4WD tread and dual range is a MUST for this trip as well and the ability/confidence to pick a line on the run as there are WAY to many climbs which are way to long and steep to just go walking them. By far the 1 of the best 4WD trips I have been on… some of the climbs could be about twice the size of Kitties and you go up and down several of them - we are keen to get back down there.

In addition to this Subg and I have done a sand trip that goes around near the Swan Valley area which have been good and you could easily take a group and we have had a general explore around the eastern side of the road to Lancelin (both near Yanchep and Moore river National Parks, obviously not in the parks) and there are hundreds of tracks and very easy to get lost for a few hours playing/exploring.

There are a few more trip I was hoping to have done some recon for however the trip to the east kinda mucked this up and with the wet season approaching fast (well so it feels) some trips are going to be off limits/to difficult (this being said though there is a side of me that is kinda keen to see just how much of a bog Mundaring turns into however will wait for more rain for that 1).

Other then this I am currently talking with some people about the potential of another recon trip and then maybe a group camp somewhere after this… its just easier if you know where your going and do not have to do crazy time wasting things, like attempt to turn a convoy around because your in a 1 track dead end – well I think so anyway.

So basically if your interested in interest in a wkd away somewhere then I suppose post something in here and/or keep an eye out and 1 of the things we are doing we’ll open up for a larger group.

Why what trip do you have planned Mike? Others?

I’m always willing to hear them and tag along on a trip to a new destination rather then being the 1 who plans them (note that i am not having a shot at anybody about this).

Anyway keep an eye out for some trip threads, and although the rain is welcome just a bit less of it will make for some great 4WDing/camping conditions.

You just realise jaffa you contradicted yourself, you hit the point right on the head, ‘damage for us is the result of either pushing limits on a track or from being stupid’ this will happen with at least one person every trip ;) proving my point

Jaffa as always I'm up for any type of trip, either the spur of the moment type or the well planned type - I'm adaptable.

Hopefully my wagon will be back in action shortly with a little Vidler Hot-metal magic!

Yer maybe I was not clear enough… these are 2 different points
1) Being stupid is 1 thing, and by this I mean being stupid – general needless thrashing, this also includes breakages things due to poor workmanship/maintenance/etc busting stuff that could have been prevented and does not include those unforseen things. This point is rearly us.

2) Busting something through finding limits on a track on a trip is another, and I have time for some of this. I am aware that finding that limit is an experience thing and it takes time and we want to push things, however its ok to not do something or leave it knowing that you’ll live to fight another day.

But yes your right the bigger the group the greater the chances that something will go wrong. That being said I should also add that this is not the entire reason lack of attendance recently, it’s a combination of a heap of things.

4Muff its always good to have other kids around as generally its only ours – she loves going however does need other activities which does not always fit into our 4WDing plans (and I am guilty of this as well).

Andrew I am well aware that you keen for everything and did hear that your currently needed to undergo some repairs in the next week or so (hope its not to major).

Depending on wether and ‘stuff” we’ll let you know.

that would be good as kids will be kids and if there are a few of them they will be happy to watch dvd's or stuff around without getting into too much trouble, its when they are on there own they decide there bord and run a muk :P

I wonder how much a child's ticket is to the Hatchy mobile movie cinema :)
Actually I hear there will be a D3V1L Dave cinema soon too - more seating capacity in that one.

Yes Alex i believe we did and i am not interested in doing it again. We all know how it started and that was not my intentions. I was just saying that we were interested in trips to new/different places and other then this I am not going into it as I am sure the old thread still exists.

Subarino you’re a funny bugger.

For those of you that want the info for the WA Subaru Club try
Meetings of are normally held at 7.30pm on the second Tuesday of each month at the Wembley Community Centre (Joan Watters Building) 40 Alexander Street, WEMBLEY W.A. or the Subaru 4WD Web Site: http://www.subaru4wdclubwa.asn.au

And for what its worth I would say unless you have been on a trip with them and/or are a member its really hard for you to comment/run them down. They do not do the stuff we do because that’s not what the current members like doing, there is nothing stopping us joining the club and proposing some of the same trip we do now… oh and for what it is worth you should maybe have a look at some of their past trip and pics as you may be surprised.

You should also remember that other members on this board belong to state Subaru clubs. However I am sure that we have had this discussion at some point as well.

All Mike asked is what trip destinations did we have planned and all I was saying is this is a few current ideas, does anybody else have any?
Actually where is your comments now Mike ;-) i heard good things about the trip down south and would tag along on a trip with ya's if you've got something going and/or know somewhere to go.

OK, sorry I have drawn a blank… Remind me again, what was it? (sorry)

Whatever it was it could be going ahead just no date set and placed on the board yet.

Mate seriously...

They sound like bloody awesome trip ideas; if you wanna organise one just post it up, guage interest and go from there. It seems to be the easiest way and doesn't result in a big argument.
Lets all be happy!
