Looking for a Subbie

Post by stephendean » Wed Apr 21, 2010 3:36 pm

Hi fellow South Australians. My 'L' series is about to die so therefore I am looking for a replacement. preferably a subby. What I would like is an Auto Liberty AWB, prefer auto due to my sciatica problem. So if anyone sees one in their travellers could you let me know. Prefer a dealer as I am going to have to use a credit card to pay for it. Looking for 89 to 92 model.

Cheers and thanks for the help in advance

Jump on http://www.carsales.com.au and search for Dealer Used Cars, Liberty, Auto, AWD in SA.

Then if you have no luck, widen your search to Vic and NSW

Done the carsales stuff and looked at a couple of Liberty's. Had Steve go over them and not up to scratch. But thanks for the reply

Or try here

Although deadicated to the RS Liberty, the younger guys often upgrade from the NA to turbos. Downside, most are interstate - if not in a rush, Steve is still your best bet I would suggest.

auto trans is well past its used by date. The pump in it is nearly gone. So time to replace car as it is not economic to replace the trans.

Tried Paul at Subareck? That way you can use your credit card for a secondhand trans?

He drops them out with his eyes closed

well things have changed a little and for the better. I now have a bit more cash to play with around $5000 to $8000. So have been looking at early model Forester's and Outbacks as well as Liberties. Prefer to get from dealer as I can go to my maximum. So I need advice for what to look out for in these various models, what is likely to go wrong etc. I wiil get Stve from Rising Sun to go over the ones I find. But some advice will be greatly accepted.

Well I have just bought a nice 1998 GX Liberty Auto wagon. Pick it up tomorrow from the dealer. Very happy with it. It goes well, is very comfortable. The only thing I am going to have to fork out on is 200,000k service as we cannot tell if it was done. Will post pics when I get it.
