Might need help drom someone in SA

Post by d_generate » Sun Apr 24, 2011 10:42 pm

Hey you wonderful people in SA, I've gone and made a huge mistake on eBay, I put a bid in on one of those roof pods cos I hate having the car cluttered with light stuff like pillows, sleeping bags etc, anyhow I won a 360 L pod from "OzPlaza Shop" only to notice they won't post to WA ??? but will send via TNT to a home address in SA.

I'm going to try to cancel the transaction but being the time of the year this may be difficult without copping a red mark which I'd rather not have.

They supposedly retail at $380ish & I won it for $169 ( I bid on the same one last week but that had free postage, not too sure about this one but it's about $70 to SA which will be paid for before it's posted.

So what I need is someone who has room and can accept this monstrosity then in your own time organise freight to Perth:D

Tom.

I'll do my best to cancel but if not I'll need a work or home addy so it can be sent there.....work may be better?????

Here it is

Hey...um....ad says only post within Oz, and last time I checked (even though some may feel a little more distant from the rest of us) WA is within Oz not overseas.

That is what I saw, that is what you saw, if your sale was differently worded ask how much extra?

OK, that is ambiguous - in the black text they state only within Oz, not oversea, plead stupid as I did not see the big red text above either on first read. Then look at it, it is their fault not yours, should also be included in the black text.

Happy to assist.

Have used e-go freight in the past - very reasonable. Depot to depot is the cheapest, and is about 7 minutes from home.

And with ebay, if you pull out at worst you receive a strike for non-payment, which means zip unless you collect a few. Buyers cannot be given neg feedback either.

Let me know and I'll PM you my mobile

And if you do proceed, please use PayPal...their feedback is a little 'variable' shall we say...

Thanks guys, it seems pretty good for the cost so I'll see what happens, I might contact eBay first & see where I stand, I don't mind paying a bit in extra freight, always pay PP but provided I have an addy to send it to before I pay they can't rip me too much, will keep you up to date on what happens.
Thanks
Tom.

You can send it to my home address if you like - have a bit of spare time ATM.

Ebay will advise you to request a 'mutual cancellation' - a lot sellers resent this, but there is nothing really they can do.

Thanks mate but at more than double the price after freight I can get one much cheaper over here so I'll do what I can to get out of it.

If not I'll get an address off you, it was too late WST to contact eBay so will do tomoz.

Looks like I'm off the hook, received this from them this morning.

Dear Mr H

Thank you for your enquiry.

There is no free shipping, and as stated on the listing, we do not normally deliver this item to Western Australia. This is due to the high cost of shipping to WA by our delivery partner, which is $255 in this case. This amount has been updated in your invoice if you still wish to go ahead and purchase the item.

If you have changed your mind, please do let us know also.

We will be closed from 22 -26 April due to the long Easter and ANZAC day weekend. Please accept our sincere apologies for any delays in replying to your messages.

Best Regards,
Edward

So very nice reply sent stating the fact that it just wasn't worth it & thanked them for allowing me to cancel the order.

So thanks for the offer of help Sven but looks good so far.

Good to see that their shipping partner is looking after them!! That's an insane price for a pod to be shipped!

The joys of ebay!

Cheers
