just got back from a camp down port Augusta way, near Mumbray Creek, stayed at a property for the long weekend, we arrived at 1am Friday i managed to roll the tyre off the rim and overheat the L series all before reaching the camp site, the problem was that i have 14inch desert rats on the car but my spare is a 13inch sunrasia so that kinda was difficult considering the 300+ km drive hm.
[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]1991 L series, 2" lift, 14" desert rats, perfect surf wagon in need of extra power
same scenario as id be in if i rolled one of mine offsubusurfer wrote:the problem was that i have 14inch desert rats on the car but my spare is a 13inch sunrasia so that kinda was difficult considering the 300+ km drive hm.
but to counteract the unbalancedness (lol) of the car i take 2 13s as spares so if i rolled a tyre off and didnt have a way of gettin it back on the plan wuld be to put the 13s on the back and have the 14s on the front.
but neway hope the rest of ya trip was good.
Wagon is no longer....

Learn how to remove tyres by hand and put them back on... Then theres no need for a spare. Just pull it off, clean it, put it back on and pump it up.. Thats what I had to do at Loveday 4x4 park. I was doing a small rally cross circuit and the outer bead pealed off. Had to break the other bead and both of the beads on the other wheel to clean out the dirt that got packed between the tyre and rim. Took an hour or so but better then having to drive the rest of the day on a crappy spare.

If I have money for fuel I'd be in for that.. Just a Saturday/sunday camp? Two days up there is good especially if you only get there by lunch on Saturday.

Loveday 17/18 Nov
OK guys booked in for 17 Nov I guess the best place to meet would be at the United service station on the Sturt HWY in Barmera unless you have a better place. We have to collect our map to the gate from there anyway.

Cool.. I'll be there.
What time is good? I normally aim to get there at about 12:00 as its a good 4 hours from where I live. If you closer people want to get there earlier, thats cool, I'll just rock up later (I know my way there) and I'll see what we can organize with Tony (owner of the land) as for the insurance paper signing and stuff.
Anyhow, lets just start with a time to be at the servo in Barmera.
