Ok, maybe not quite.
So the story is I need to mod some rear coilovers to fit into the Gen1 lib, originally for a Gen3 (I think) --> L series.
Now these are fully adjustable, the legs screw off.
March along to a random metal work place that says " we wont touch that, take it to '---', he's really good"
So I do.
A week later, I'm getting, "Yeah, Nah, not sure if we should be doing that, will have to check into legallities etc etc"
This can be interpreted a few ways but at any level I'm not impressed.
So the question is: Is there a firm/individual in hobart that would either: cut a thread into a bit of pipe and weld two pieces of flat bar to it. Or sleave the old leg with a bit of pipe and weld two pieces of flat bar to it.
Ideally by mid next week.
Not sure what this says for the north-west, but getting a job like this done there would be child's play.
I just don't know hobart well enough yet.

yeah most people down hobart way are like that unfortunately, ive tried getting stuff done and failed miserably
how close is the coilover strut to fitting in the chopped legs? can use petes welder to join them together if needed?
also dont worry bout making a set of coilovers for me either, loks like easiest option is buying a kit (comes with threaded sleeve and speing seats

Ian Wetherhead has made stuff for me in the past, nice work too.
Good bloke.
He even kept a straight face when we told him it was for a 10 horsepower belt driven snowboard.
But that is another Long story.

The name did seem familiar but just couldn't figure it out.
Now that you mention it though Matt, pretty sure his name did come up late one night (or early one morning...) after the cars had gone to bed and tales were in the telling.
Anyways, will get onto it next week when exams are over.
