1991 L Series wagon, white and perfectly normal apart from the ticking, no I think that is normal.
Jet boat..webbered EA81 with a hybrid tin dish welded and glued to it.

Friendly Beaches is in the Freycinet national park isn't it? Sounds Good.
And always a fan of the central highlands.
Maybe we could go to those Salt flats?
I wouldn't mind a bit of a circumnavigation of tassie, or something like that.

anymore thoughts on where we would like to go? beach/sand, highlands, gravel, rock, mud, or bit of everything?
I am pretty determined not to come home for a least a fortnight, hopefully have enough spares to see it out.
The henty dunes are always great fun, if anyone hasn't been there it should be on the list.
Wouldn't mind a sticky beak at the Darwin Platea, near Queenstown, rated 'Hard' for 'real' 4wds and fairly rocky, should be a bit of a challenge.
Have also been told there is some killer forestry tracks around huonville, would be nice to try and get lost in them!

Yeah im keen for a bit of everything. Never driven in the dunes before so that should be cool. There are some pretty cool forestry tracks in the Florentine Valley too. Got to give a Uni Forester a good thrashing round there last year during a field trip. Might even find some good mud round there too.

looks like there could be some cool stuff to explore are here. And getting a key to some of the tracks shouldn't be a problem either. I particulaly like the bit that says
"People using this route must be experienced four-wheel drivers with high clearance vehicles. There is a particularly steep and slippery section on the Saw Back track just before it joins the Adamsfield track."

Ill be working 3 days on 4 off or something zooming around the river on a 600hp tour boat, so i wont really know till dates are sorted, but its for sure possible at least for a few days. yet to take the new L off road, keen to find out how she goes....

Its about time we took this off the shelf and blew the dust off.
There are a few track mentioned here on the parks website, all of these should also be in the Off Road Tasmania book. (good read)
So far we have something like this:

Will try and make a bit of 'spare dump' from excess spares (can't carry tooo much) in queenstown between now and xmas (near the rocky tracks)
Finally dates, is there a general time everyone has off? would it be better early to mid Jan, a little after the silly season? Maybe if we did the the sections as smaller individual trips?
Wagon is so close to ready I can smell it, Custom exhaust all the way and little bit more wiring should sort it out.
Unfortunatly I don't think my latest potential project will be ready for this trip!

I'll be up north for christmas and available from mid boxing day till mid friday (29th) as i have to work in hobart on friday night. Is probably better to split it up into a few smaller trips i reckon as there isn't much time between xmas and new years to cram it all in.
