Well just to ruin my day on my way home smoke suddenly came up from the front and I then noticed the temp gauge was nearly at top. So I turned in and shut down the engine at once.
The plastic top on the radiator on the passenger side where the hoses are connected got a slight crack at the front loosing coolant.
Not a good time since I more or less ruined myself on new suspension, 4wd alignment, inspection and other stuff in a short time.

Ye, I think it is. It seems I got air in the system or something else as the expension tank was dried up. All the coolant stopped in the radiator. The plastic tank had enough coolant but that did not help. So filled up and squeesed the hoses. Ran it a bit on high rpm and closed the now 10cm thin crack in the plastic. Need to keep an eye on the temp gauge tho and the leak area.AlpineRaven wrote:bummer... these things does happen and have a bad day to start of with... is the engine okay?

Guess a new radiator is needed in the end. But atm the temp fix seems to work. Have to order a new one soon.

I never heard of that. You gotta show me one of thosesteptoe wrote:I can recommend a watchdog unit for this sort of prevention. I set my alarm to go off 2 degrees above the thermo fan cut in, and it did go off recently with the loss of just 500 to 750 ml. coolant.
