G'day. I'm looking at doing a skid pan/advanced driver course, in my own liberty wagon, 2000 RX (2.5l).
I was wondering whether it has VDC (Vehicle Dynamic Control) and if so, will it ruin the fun of the skid pan/can it be turned off?

Check your 'Owners Manual' in your glovebox. But from memory the Dynamic Control didn't come out in the Libertys until the Gen 5 models?? Maybe some Gen 4 but not in Australia.

Are you sure?bobbyjimmy wrote:Heritage's had it, and so did the H6's.
From reading the FSM, it appears that only Gen3's with the VTD auto (Variable Torque Distribution) got VDC.
Which was only optioned Outback H6 Luxury's and the B4 Twin Turbo Auto.
Heritage's only had a EJ25 with a MPT auto (Multi-Plate Transfer).
Either way, you dont have it. If you did, there would be a VDC OFF button somewhere in the cabin and when you first turn the ignition on, the VDC light comes on momentarily.
Where are you you going to get some skidpan action anywhere near Nambucca???
I thought Ralliegh raceway wasnt doing track days anymore because of insurance costs

Was Heritage wagon's only, wonder why/what difference between sedan's why they couldn't put it in?

Well i stand corrected.
From the wiring diagrams in the FSM, the VDC is only available on VTD auto gearboxes because of its torque shifting abilities. I also didnt see any reference to VTD autos available with the 2.5L engine, only the EZ30 and the EJ206 so that how i made my assumption.
From reading that link you posted, it was a $2500 option, so i wonder how many Heritages out there actually have it?
Thanks for the info anyway, i would love to put a VTD auto in my Outback (with the sport-shift from an auto B4 if i found one)

I have an Aussie B4 with the Triptronic Auto in it and can't see anything written (or buttons) to control VDC?? unless it's computer controlled and not able to be switched off but I doubt it.

It's a 2003 model but I didn't buy it new so not sure about being an option but it is a factory auto with the controls on the momo wheel
