I just put a second hand ea82t engine in my wagon, i heard it going in the old car it was out of and took it for a test run before i pulled it out and put it in mine sounded really nice and went well but after putting it in my car it has a strange knocking sound when i rev it the more rev's the more knocking sound at idle there's no knocking sound and idle's smooth. The only thing different about the motor is i have a td04 wrx turbo and intercooler on it and i did notice when i was putting the motor in the turbo has a bit of shaft play, can a blown turbo make a knocking sound through rev's. I cant seem to pin point were the sound is coming from?.
could it be fuel i just found out my brother put 2 stroke fuel out of my boat in it as the car had no fuel in it, nice one brother.
