Need help

Post by SmokeyBbear » Fri Apr 01, 2011 4:27 am

Was driving though the city a couple of nights ago when my '89 l series died
Just lost all electrics like the battery had been disconnected suddenly
After spending abit of time looking over it I repaired a fuseable link (the black one that is at the top)
After that the car would crank but would not start, everytime I would crank it I could strongly smell fuel
I have only had it a couple of weeks and had a very rough run
If anyone could give me any advice I would be very thankful

Cheers, Aaron

well it sound like ur not getting spark, if a fuse blew, then something cased it to blow and it would have been part of the ignition system.
Electrical faults are difficult to diagnose unless ur an auto sparky, or its something simple like a stripped wire earthing.

Aaron,

I had same fault with my Brumby.

Charcoal canister solenoid on carburettor went short circuit and blew the ignition fuse.
Regards

Gary ;)
