Subaru limp home mode

Hey guys iv got a 1991 Subau Liberty GX 4wd auto.
The problem started the other day when i took off from a set of lights and noticed iv got no power after much reading all iv found out that its in limp home mode, but no way ov finding whats causing the problem, any help is much appreciated.

it could be caused by any number of engine faults throwing codes and causing the computer to go in to safe mode

there is a sticky here with a very good explaination of reading codes


this site has an explaination on Manually Reading ECU Codes

then you can start the task of replacing problem sensors / parts ETC

Check out any codes (if your check engine light is on) and also record and clear your codes in memory.

Also check your transmission flud is in good condition.
