apologise to the gearbox? Where'd you get your shafts? What sort of warranty? Keep your receipts and document your odo (or someone elses :-) with a photo.

I have had a lot of trouble with a certain store brand with a generous warranty, got third degree every time I went in for a 'swap' , one started to knock after about three weeks , another developed a wobble misalignment that would come and go depending on torque applied or cruise.....

Feels good to get it done yourself doesn't it?
Well done, you were not alone on the handbrake cable issue :)

Hehehe... handbrake cable - I can honestly say that I'm not a part of that club... yet.

Good stuff - it's amazing what those little CV buggers do and even more amazing (read: puzzling) the range of issues you can have with them!

Cheers

Thanks guys

Steptoe, I got the shafts from Hardy Spicer here in Mackay. The brand name on the box was GSP. I forgot to ask about any warranty but I've kept the receipt. Let's hope I don't need it...

I got a set of those GSP shafts for the L series. They went really well, copped 18 months of hard work from the EJ and offroad. When I had an issue with one of the shafts early on they replaced it without a question.

As for warranty my shafts came with a couple of months (maybe 6?) months or 20,000km for 4wd and for 2wd it was 12 months or 60,000km...

Cheers
