Urgent help required

Hi all, my 92 brumby is making a funny squeaking type noise, from where the drive shaft goes into the box at the rear. Its not the drive shaft, the noise appears when i turn the left side cv joint thingy coming from the rear wheel. Just after the name of this part. Is it a rear cv ????? CHEERS

Brake shoes worn out and metal on metal rubbing is causing your squeal?

So where are you turning it from?

The rear wheel; or the driveshaft with the drum off; or the inner cv axle trunnion with the driveshaft removed from the inner cv trunnion?

if the box you talk about is the rear diff' , then the shafts going to rear whels is rar axle with double off set joints at each end. CV joint is really only needed for steering needs .

REAR WHEEL NOISE
(1) Tyre noise: Determine whether normal or
excessive for the type ofvehicle and tyre construction.
(2) Wheel loose on hub: Check condition of hub
and wheel rim and tighten or renew faulty components.
(3) Defective brake components: Overhaul
brakes, refer to the Brakes section.
(4) Defective or incorrectly adjusted hub drive
shaft or bearings: Adjust or renew faulty components,
refer to the Rear Suspension section.
(5) Bent axle shaft: Renew axle shaft.
(6) Damaged axle shaft outer double offset joint:
Renew double offset joint.
(7) Lack of lubricant in axle shaft outer double
offset joint: Check and renew double offset joint
rubber boot and lubricant.
(8) Wheel bent or out of balance: Renew wheel
or balance wheel and tyre assembly.
NOTE: Raise and supporl Ihe rear or the
vehicle. Check Ihe road wheel nuls fiJI'
tightness and spin Ihe wheels 10 check for
runoul. Axle shaJt or hub bearing noises can
be diagnosed hy spinning one whee/ at a
time and listening J(If' a rumb/c. H'hen
carrying out Ihe bearing leSl, place the
transmission in neulral and slOp Ihe olher
