yes will post a few photos at some stge but will try get her all running mint first

just had it started up sounds fine at idle but bloody knocking at higher revs. sounding exactly like the fried bottom end did on the ea81 carb motor i just pulled out of boat.

thinking again after my winge in the above post if this could be valve , tappit, lifter noise? has been sitting for almost 18months an then run in short periods then filled with water so maybe oil is a bit lacking or something.

i just put new oil in after draining alll the water/oil out of intake, turbo, pistons and every where it could get. runs even at low revs still just as it revs up it becomes quite loud .

how can i check if the lifters are working and getting oil?

can you tube it ? So we can listen ? EA82 lifters can take a long time to settle in and go quiet, water does not help. Had same problem with my hrdaulic liftered EA81, leaky welch plug replaced, engine back in and took 9 kms to quieten it up !

yup was lifter thank fully. i ran it up in the pond for a while with an engine flush in it, worked a treat.!

were still not running mint just yet had a few hick ups but solving them as i go along, pretty happy with every thing so far.

however i do have a question about my old carbi non turbo ea81, will the heads or any other important parts fit my new injected ea82t? wondering weather or not to keep it as a spare or get rid of it?

will keep you updated on how it goes when i fanally get it all back together ha

cheers rhino

good to hear it is improving without too much work or coin.

you can name th brand of engine flush in here.

pretty much nothing is interchangeable beteen your old ea81 and new '2t - you've got the boat - do you need another anchor ? :D
