ea81 carb problems?

i have a 1990 brumby with an ea81, it has been running rough since i got it but has recently decided it wont run at all without 3/4 choke, any ideas? thanks in advance

Have you checked a few basic things? - vacuum leaks/hoses, fuel supply - do the filters need changing, is the fuel pump running ok and providing enough fuel to the engine bay?

Also the carbie might be in need of a rebuild - usually a new kit can sort out some issues. If the butterfly shaft is excessively worn then this can also cause vacuum leak issues and rough running behaviour.
