Yes it may have been an expensive service and most of us would have tackled most of it ourselves, but if it gives him $6000 worth of enjoyment and/or piece of mind that it will give trouble free motoring, its money well spent.

Has the engine had the WRX head conversion? Do the ignition coils have 1 or 2 bolts in them?

The RS has the wrx conversion, not too sure about the coils. What's the difference? I believe the standard gave some problems. I'll have a look when it stops raining.
I managed to fix the wind buffetting thru the front doors. Simply took off the door trim and adjusted the.power windows so they are correctly aligned. Also padded the door rubbers with sticky strips of foam and placed within the groove. Works a treat.
