Post by Malibu » Fri Mar 15, 2013 6:31 pm

Hi All,new to the forum and asking for help.Currently have a 1999 outback wagon that has a problem when first starting. "check engine light comes on and stays on between 10 secs up to 2 mins. When this light is on,the subaru is very sluggish and wont accelerate. When the light goes out, all is back to normal.Any replies greatfully accepted.

Do a search on here about engine codes. All you have to do is read the engine codes and u'll know whats wrong. You might need to see a mechanic so they can read the code/codes unless you live close to a member on here that has the code reader.

Hi and Welcome Malibu,

I'd grab yourself a copy of the workshop manual, PM TOONGA if you can't find one. This will tell you how to check the codes in your model and from that we should be able to give you some better answers.

Cheers,
Paul
