Weird reverse issue
Weird reverse issue
Hey guys, haven't posted in aaaages but I've come up with a weird issue when reversing the Brumbysaurus.
No reversing in a straight line is a no brainer, but turning whilst reversing (ie parallel parking) becomes a nightmare. The gearbox decides it no longer wishes to select reverse. It is like the shifter has popped out when it actually hasn't.
Not sure what the go is here. Whether the gearbox is shagged, or something else is screwy I don't know!
The car has a 2" lift is that helps.
Cheers.
EDIT: Forgot to mention is has a 3.7 5spd dual range box in it!

hmmm sounds like a linkage problem when you turn every thing moves around a little soooo it might just be enough to make a linkage touch or something!!

Is it in the brumby??
Might be a stuffed gearbox.
'MY' 4 Spd gearboxes were notorious for striping the reverse gear. So when it comes under strain i.e. reversing whilst turning will make it 'pop' out of reverse.
The easiest way to check is to put it in to reverse on level ground & take off in reverse quickly -> if it pops out = gearbox stuffed.
