Could someone please point me in the right direction to find out what the check engine codes are for a 1993 Liberty GX wagon?
Im getting a number 11 code.

crank aggle sensor

Hello. I had a manual 86 VL commodore that crapped a crank angle sensor, real annoying sensore to go. I don't know if it would be th same on your Subaru, but here is what happened to my VL. Driving along the road as per usual and the car would cut out (not stall) or slow for a milisecond, as the problem got worse and nobody could tell me whats wrong it got much worse. Went for a trip to Armidale from Penrith and it toll 10 hours when it should take about 6. Would be driving along at 110km/h and the engine would sut off with no notice. Would let it slow to approx 80 then clutch start in 4th gear, if that didn't work i'd keep on trying the next lowergear as the car slowed, some times this worked others times it didn't. Only had to wait 5 min once to get it restarted though so we weren't stuck, just very annoying and a little scary clutch starting at those speeds. We were driving at night too, so stoping at a workshop was not an option. Just kep on going. It felt like the car was not getting enough air or peterol, like it was being starved and the sparks couldn't sucessfully fire. I think the computer was killing the sparks to protect the car. Funny the check engine light was not coming on though.
I have a question too - where do u get the check engine codes from, a Diagnostic computer from a workshop? Is there a way to check them yourself? I have a 96 liberty that shut down the otherday 10 sec after the check engine light came on, no problem since.... It was a very hot day and the engine bay was abosolutly roasting inside, could barely fit the rod that supports the bonnet when open. I have a little front end dammage that I think may have affected the radiator. Thats what I think was the problem, yet the temp gage was as per usual, not hot or cold just normal....
