Or do what Talasas did. That unit above looks a lot neater though and I would presume that it is a direct plug and play?

Cheers

not quite a direct plug and play, it will take into account pretty much all of talasas's mods and just roll it into a single relay. Abit of joining/splitting of wires is required.

should be an interesting day on sunday when i go investigate the car.

first thing i will be checking the timing, hopefully i can just visibly do this by removing the end timing belt covers? (making sure the lines on the belt line up with the marks on the covers, NOT the cogs?)

if thats all fine, i'll do the relay mod and if that doesnt fix it, i think the only other thing it can be is the fuel pump/injectors.

geez its turning into a mission!

so far ive replaced(in the past week or so)
-new drive belts (needed to be done, i realise its got nothing to do with the issue)
-new plugs
-new coil
-new fuel filter
-new starter motor (unrelated problem)

starting to remember why i bought newer cars with no problems! haha

update and i still need help.

i think the problem is getting worse. The car isnt starting very well. To get it started i have to crank the motor over and keep my foot flat on the accelerator pedal.

once it eventually starts up it runs like junk for afew seconds then goes into a semi normal idle.

fuel pump getting progressively worse?

timing 'seems' to be all good with the quick glance i had on the weekend.

Air flow meter, cam angle sensor, TPS?, try a bit of contact spray on the AFM, another thing to try is leave the car running and wriggle every plug you can find....preferably with the radio off station & up full bore, it'll crackle if there is a bad connection.
