True, but I would call the $200 outlay for a new pump, that will not be looked until the 200k Km service (ie next timing belt) a wise investment.

I have seen pumps fail at 80K due to poor coolant/maintenance. With 8 year old a 2nd hand car, going into summer, with a 100K km service on the cards, i know where I would spending some extra Benjamins.

A the very least have it checked as suggested.

The last EA82 pump (this is not your 2.0lt engine though - an earlier model) I did was non-OME, <$120 trade, with a 2 year warranty no less.

Cannot for the life of me recall the brand though.

Also check your fuel filters - you have 2 of them.

That was only within 33km
