croaking/scratching noise?

croaking/scratching noise?

gday
was changing the wheel on my dads mazda 626 today and when i started it up theres this aweful croaking/scratching sound coming from the from right hand side.
it comes it short waves as the car idles.
never heard anything like it
any ideas ?

Yer dump it and tell him to purchase a Subaru. Maybe try 1 of the Mazda forums. Have you had a look in the engine bay to see if something is look/moving. A bit more info might help as well, like did you actually drive the car and did the noise continue or sis you shut it down?

Belts??

626 is East/West right?

try spraying the belts with some CRC or Silicone Spray (or even WD40 i guess)

btw, thats a very broad description :p
