Hi guys/gals

I'll be brief..I have a wet floor on the passenger side of my brumby??? Drivers side is dry and back floor is dry....
Could it be

(a) Leaking windscreen
(b) Leaking Heater unit
(c) Leaking air con
(d) Other

I'll have to get my head up under and have a look and see what I can see...

Any tips???

If you drive the Subi like Reg , it could be the submarine seals gone

has it been raining where you are?

make sure the grommet under the bonnet where the wires past through into the car is in properly. Even run a line of silicone around it. I have a similar problem when its been raining heavily, but its because of the grommet.

Id say youd know if the heater core was leaking because it would generally piss out cos its under pressure and steam up the car!

I chased a similar leak. Whilst all the places mentioned will leak, check also the seam where the tray meets the cab. Not the bottom seam, or pinch weld, the one which is just below the window. Easy way to check is to take out the rear bulkhead...easy job, then poor water down there.

Mine wasn't that noticable at all. The only reason i discovered my heater was leaking is because i was taking my rubber mat out to clean and there was atleast a centimetre of green pooled on the floor.

I disconnected it a couple weeks back and there has been no green since...

Ok, thanks for this..I know it was a pretty broad question, but you have all given me ideas of what to look at. I don't lose coolant so I think that may eliminate the heater. Yes it has been in the rain but the back floor is dry and so is the drivers side. My passenger assures me that she has behaved herself. Could be other, Reg. Will drain pipe for air con too.

Time to go for a Dash dive and stick my head underneath. Blahhh. I'm 6 foot and over 20 stone, not looking forward to this...' Will check those grommets too. Thanks men.

Or stick a piece of wire up the a/c drain pipe under the car?

Went for the aircon drain tube today and found the grommet wasn't seated in at all. Fixed that, ..but.....still looking???

Probably will be the windscreen. Phoooie

Speaking of leaks...where do you get new windscreen seals, window seals, door seals for a Brumby?

It could be ur windscreen... my mum's L series did the same about 12-18 months ago after it snowed up home, except the water used 2 just run down the inside of her window.

theres always windscreen rubbers on ebay, not sure if they are any good

Just got one.... looks fine to me

l hate to say it but this is real common with older Subs, normally it would be a good idea to pop the screen and check the channel behind the rubber to see if the edges have rusted away, have you lifted the rubber door stop attached to the inner A frame across from the windscreen and above the upper door mount? lf you see rust under here it's a safe bet, the windscreen channel.

My current Brumby had grass growing in it before l fixed it.

I'm gonna run some water over it as soon as it all dries out and see what it does. I have seen those windscreen rubbers on ebay $110.

How hard is it to pop the windscreen out or should I take it to a windscreen joint???

You should be able to just get it resealed without taking the screen out , taking the screen out allways has a risk of the windscreen breaking.
